We did it, thank you everyone who helped the Guardian Farm team join in and help plant the 10,000 endangered Queñua trees with a local group in the Sacred Valley. There were many people that gathered in Calca to help. From there, it was an hour drive into a remote community region. This region had been clear cut by in the time of the Spanish.
We were able to send a total of 11 people to help - 7 of which their travel and lodging were covered. Many said it was an experience of their lifetime to witness a giant planting like that. The views were scenic and we were lucky to have a professional photographer on our team who is still working with photos.
At the farm we have been full on in our cultivation of trees. This year I have been working steadily to propagate 5,000 bamboo plants, 3 different varieties. Bamboo is such a great resource.
Guardian Farm has about 800 or 900 trees left to donate and plant this year. We will keep you in the loop with our efforts. Thank you for all your help.
Oh! If anyone has a microscope, we would absolutely love one to further our research on soil health. We do a lot to create living, microbe rich soil.
Oh! And we are now a non profit in Peru Thank you so much
